Army Combat Medic Sean Gannon Of Fredericksburg Dies, 31

Support is surging for the family of Sean Gannon, a 31-year-old Army combat medic who died on Nov. 18, 2023.

Gannon, of Fredericksburg, leaves behind his wife, Julie Gannon, and their two daughters.

More than $13,400 had been raised on a GoFundMe for the Gannon girls as of Thursday, Dec. 7.

Launched by Claire Buffa, the campaign says Sean had a "remarkable" career as an Army combat medic, who "brought comfort and healing to countless lives. 

"His commitment to serving others has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he cared for. He was a valued mentor to many. Sean took the time to teach others and be proficient in his work. He was undeniably one of the best partners to have by your side and he was always prepared to step up."

He'll be remembered for his quick thinking and sharp wit, and for the love he had for his family.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Dec. 11 at the Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service inFredericksburg at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service with inurnment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
